Tax deductible car donation
Worldwide Car Donations is the vehicle donation program of Worldwide Donations, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your vehicle donation is tax deductible. You receive a receipt at pickup and IRS Form 1098-C once the vehicle is sold or its use is determined.
Your deduction is the real sale price, not a flat $500
Under $500 needs no extra paperwork, and this is why a $500 receipt is the standard answer everywhere else. We inspect first. A car that still runs is worth more to a registered dealer or at auction, and when it sells for more that higher figure is what goes on your IRS Form 1098-C. Some running vans stay with us for the meals and transport programs, which puts that donor in the fair market value category instead.

No title? We apply for it and we pay for it
A missing title stops most people from donating. In New York, for any vehicle eight years or older we can use a NYS DMV MV-35 form. In Florida a duplicate title is inexpensive and usually printed on the spot at a tax collector office. Either way we prepare the application, submit it and cover the cost ourselves.

We take care of the plates
In New York the plates belong to you, not the vehicle, so we remove them and peel the registration sticker before the car is towed. Surrender them at a DMV office and keep the FS-6T receipt. In Florida plates also stay with you, and form HSMV 82050 releases your liability. Do not cancel your insurance until the plates are handled.

Cars, trucks, pickups, vans, minivans, SUVs and box trucks. Running or not, wrecked, flood damaged, high mileage or long out of registration. Motorcycles, boats, campers and trailers are taken case by case, so call and ask.

Give us the year, make, model and rough condition, and let us know whether you have the title. Tell us where the vehicle is sitting. If it runs, say so, because a running vehicle is worth a higher deduction to you.
2. We tell you what happens to your car
Some vehicles go to a licensed recycler. Some are sold to a registered dealer or through auction where they bring considerably more. Some running vans stay with us and are used in our own programs. Which of those happens decides what you can deduct, and we tell you before we take it.
