Have the year, make, model and rough condition ready, and let us know whether you have the title in hand. Tell us where the vehicle is sitting. If it runs, say so, because a running vehicle is worth a higher tax deduction.
2. We tell you what happens to your car
Some vehicles go to a licensed recycler. Some are inspected and sold to a registered dealer or through auction, where they bring considerably more. Some running vans and reliable cars are kept and used in our own programs. Which of those happens decides what you can deduct, and we will tell you honestly which one your car is likely headed for before we accept it.
3. We pick it up free, anywhere we serve
Free towing across the five boroughs of New York City and in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County in Florida. Running or not. Driveway, street, parking lot, storage yard or body shop. You pick the time, including evenings and weekends.
4. We handle the paperwork, including a missing title
If the title is missing we apply for the duplicate and we pay for it. Bring your ID and the registration if you have it, sign where we show you, and the rest is ours to sort out.
5. You receive your IRS receipt
If your vehicle sells for more than $500 you receive Form 1098-C showing the actual gross proceeds, and that figure is what you deduct. Not a flat $500. If we keep the vehicle and use it in our programs, or transfer it to someone who needs transportation, the fair market value rules apply instead and the form reflects that.
