Our Story
Worldwide Car Donations is the vehicle donation program of Worldwide Donations, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Hallandale Beach, Florida, operating in New York City and South Florida.
How it started
Someone noticed a man sitting on a curb in ninety degree heat and asked whether he had eaten that day, then walked into the store with him and bought the person a meal and something cold to drink. Not a program, not a campaign. One question and one answer. That is still how we give back. We see the need in front of us and we act on it, in New York City and in South Florida.
Why vehicles
An old car sitting in a driveway costs its owner money and does nothing for anyone. Donate a car, and turn into meals, blankets, and a ride to a hospital appointment. There is no grant behind this and no government money. What was donated last month is what pays for this month.
What we are building
Meals and essentials delivered on a schedule rather than when we can. A free ride program for people who cannot get to medical appointments. Visits and calls for older people who do not get many of either. We are growing rather than finished, and every donated vehicle moves us forward.
